The availability and quality of Sports Infrastructure is essential for a country to achieve success in the global sports arena. Taking into account the current scenario and the need to empower the youth of its state to compete globally, the Government of Assam has laid a strong emphasis on providing world class sports infrastructure to its aspiring population.
As a part of this, the government has proposed to build world-class sports complex in the state of Assam to achieve its objective and the first step towards this initiative is a Sports Complex in the city of Tezpur.

The project objective is to develop an Integrated Sports Complex at Hazarapara including Water front Development and Birds Observatory Tower at Tezpur.
The project highlights are FIFA standard Football Ground with 400 Meters (8 Lane tracks), Wing A & B (Admin Cum Players Dormitories),Grand Stand, Sitting Galleries Cum Indoor Sports amenities, Basket Ball Court, Lawn Tennis Court, Badminton Courts, Olympic size Swimming Pool, Multi-Functional Indoor Sports, Drone Enclosure, Bird’s Watch Tower, High Mast Lightings etc.
The Site for Sports Complex is located adjacent to Hazara Pukhuri, which is the 3rd largest water tank in the city famous for migratory birds and thus acts a tourist destination.
